PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Gender Rights in Tech: Community Outreach & Web Development Intern
JANUARY 2022 – JUNE 2022
Led the organisation of a community meeting introducing the NPO’s work to key stakeholders in Cape Town, including researching and contacting potential attendees, creating the agenda, developing all promotional materials, organising catering, securing the venue and managing RSVPs. Designed all visuals for the feature presentation. Outreach strategies were highly effective, with over 80% of those contacted attending. This meeting was extremely significant in the journey of the NPO, beginning GRiT’s connection with several high-profile philanthropists and large nonprofits, and directly resulting in funding opportunities.
Researched for and designed a series of educational infographics and posters on sexual violence and related issues.
Conceptualised, pitched and led a project to research and identify spiking and harassment ‘hotspots’ in Cape Town, distribute designed materials to identified nightlife venues across Cape Town, and to deliver advice to owners and managers of these venues on improving their anti-harassment policies, where necessary working in collaboration with venue owners to implement new anti-harassment and anti-spiking policies and procedures.
Provided support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including accompanying individuals to court, assisting with completion of Protection Order applications and providing regular one-to-one support.
Assisted with grant writing, yearly budget planning, developing and designing pitch decks and presentations, and planning of social media posts based on current trends.
Regularly drafted and sent communications to stakeholders via e-mail.
Redesigned and updated website using Divi and WordPress.
Maintained and updated central databases of locations and contact details used for outreach and App functionalities.
Tour de Moon: Youth Reporters’ Board

Identified relevant potential organisations through research and independently drafted outreach emails and phone call scripts.
Contacted 100+ youth-oriented organisations across the UK to raise awareness of and encourage application for 850+ funding grants.
Attended integral planning meetings in order to represent the youth voice and evaluate how effectively core values of the organisation were upheld.
Assisted with the coordination of the finale event in Hackney, including with manual set up of the event, and control of merchandise sales.
Nelly Ben Hayoun Studios: Creative Coordinator

Carried out research for the documentary DOPPLEGANGERS3 with a focus on potential interview subjects, including public figures, and international filming locations. Created and maintained a database of this information.
Regularly updated studio website.
Maintained admin email accounts to keep record of University of the Underground program applications and contacted potential guest lecturers.
Assisted with rebrand design of the studio’s branding pack and copy and design of pitch decks. Drafted and managed sending of press releases and newsletters to studio mailing list.

Warwick Clothes Circuit Society: President, Treasurer
SEPTEMBER 2022 – PRESENT
As Treasurer, developed the yearly budget for the society, managed the society bank account and oversaw reimbursement of money to society exec members.
As President, oversaw all planning of society meetings, projects and events. Organised collaborative events with other societies. Coordinated several events throughout the academic year with >200 attendees, including a charity event that raised >£500 for Movember. Designed the long term strategy for the society in line with the society’s focus on sustainable fashion and presided over the aesthetic choices for society marketing materials.
Work as president led to the society’s biggest growth since its inception with an increase of 150% in active members.

MARCH 2023 – JANUARY 2024
Designed, developed and launched an art collective showcasing student artwork and photography, collaborating with DJs to create a unique event for attendees, resulting in two successful sold-out exhibitions. Presided over curation of artwork and photography, selecting suitable work in line with each event’s theme.
Implemented effective event planning strategies, researching and securing suitable exhibition venues and managing physical setup of exhibitions.
Organised ticketing through Eventbrite, designed promotional posters and social media posts, including videos.
Between the two exhibitions this increased event attendance by 35% and social media following by 40%, with both events reaching their venue’s capacity.

MARCH 2021 – JUNE 2021
Led an 11 week demonstration seeking improved anti-sexual violence policies receiving international attention. Used social media to raise awareness of the campaign, reaching over 500,000 people and growing a following of >5000 in under a month. Drafted regular press releases and briefings and maintained the press list.
Drafted research-based and expert-informed formal documents of demands and defended them in a professional environment during legal mediation.
Surveyed opinions of more than 1000 students using social media and presented these results to University staff.
Represented the organisation in legal mediation with University representatives and negotiated a formal agreement, reaching a mutually acceptable conclusion.
Upon request, provided advice and suggestions on procedure to prevent sexual assault and protect survivors of sexual assault to both the MP for Coventry South and the MP for Leamington Spa.
